I photograph the people who keep a tradition alive. Kiai whose patience outlasts the lesson, habaib who carry the Prophet’s lineage with quiet grace, scholars who crossed oceans to teach — and the moment they forget, for a breath, that the camera is there. Based in Probolinggo, East Java. Portraits made slowly, with permission and with tea.
